Acute Injuries
Acute injuries are of sudden onset, caused by high-intensity forces, and of short duration, such as sprains, strains, and contusions. The acute phase typically last 0-4 days after the injury. At Home Stretch Therapy we encourage our patients to follow the evidence-based up-to-date acronym: PEACE & LOVE in the acute to sub-acute phase of healing (acute 0-4, subacute 5-14 days). It is best to understand your injury with the help of an Athletic therapist so that you do not exacerbate the symptoms and delay recovery.
